Liverpool FC has reportedly fallen behind in the race to sign 22-year-old Swedish left-back Daniel Svensson. According to FotbollDirekt expert Lars Gram-Hanssen, Svensson would prefer a move to Leeds United instead of the Reds. Gram-Hanssen believes that Leeds, who have been monitoring Svensson for a long time, offer him a better opportunity to be a starter from the beginning.

Svensson has impressed in his time with Norwegian side Nordsjaelland, making 150 appearances and scoring eight goals and providing 20 assists. His impressive performances have seen Liverpool take an interest in signing him in January or next summer. However, Nordsjaelland and Svensson both want to continue until at least the end of this season.

Liverpool is looking for reinforcements in the left-back position following Andrew Robertson’s struggles this season. Robertson has been inconsistent, registering just one assist in 17 games across competitions and making some defensive errors. Kostas Tsimikas, meanwhile, has started just six games across competitions.

The Reds are looking to bolster their defense ahead of their upcoming clash against Manchester City. City is hot on Liverpool’s heels in the Premier League table, with the two teams just eight points apart. The match at Anfield on Sunday, December 1, can have significant implications in the title race.

In other news, Liverpool’s Andy Robertson has spoken about the importance of recovery ahead of the Manchester City clash. Robertson believes that the team’s mentality has already turned to the next game, with the coaches likely to start planning for Sunday’s match as soon as the final whistle blows. He emphasized the need for sleep and recovery, stating that every player has to step up to achieve a similar performance to the one against Real Madrid.

Liverpool currently sits atop the Premier League table, and a win against Manchester City would give them a significant advantage in the title race. Robertson believes that the team is ready to face the challenge, with the players looking forward to another big game at Anfield.
