Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount is understandably upset about a new injury setback that will keep him out of upcoming matches.
He shared his feelings through a heartfelt social media post on Friday night, following head coach Ruben Amorim’s confirmation that Mount will be sidelined for “several weeks.” This injury occurred during the first half of last weekend’s Manchester derby.
Mount, who has faced repeated challenges with injuries since joining Manchester United in the summer of 2023, showed clear disappointment as he was substituted at the Etihad Stadium. He expressed his emotions in a sincere post, explaining his feelings and determination to recover.
Mount began his message by saying: “Words can’t portray how devastated I’m feeling right now, you could probably see the look on my face when it happened. I knew what it meant.
“United fans, you may not know me too well yet, but one thing I can guarantee, I will never give up or lose faith.
“I’ve said this before, but I will continue to give everything, get through this tough period and won’t stop until that’s achieved.”
Teammates Bruno Fernandes and Joshua Zirkzee, among others, reshared his post on Instagram, offering words of encouragement. The support for Mount reflects the admiration he has earned within the team.
Despite this challenging moment, Mount’s determined spirit is evident. His positive attitude has already made a significant impression on Ruben Amorim, the club’s new head coach. Amorim has praised Mount’s mindset and expressed his commitment to helping the midfielder through this tough time.
Before Amorim’s first game in charge at Ipswich last month, he mentioned how much he appreciated Mount’s dedication. In a pre-match press conference ahead of this weekend’s game against Bournemouth, Amorim shared his plan to support Mount during his recovery process.
“What I can do is to help Mase, to teach him how to play our game when he’s recovering,” Amorim told journalists.
“To try to use that time for him to think about different things. I think the worst part is that we don’t have time to train like we should do when you are recovering from a lot of injuries.
“With Mason Mount, we are going to help him. It is really hard for a player to be out for so long and is trying really hard, the same for me. If they try really hard, we will help them until the end.”
