The Ivory Coast international has already made a strong impact under Ruben Amorim. In just two Premier League games, he has set up three goals while excelling in a right-sided wing-back role.

His impressive performances have earned him praise from the coach, who admires his effort, adaptability, and dedication.

Amad Diallo spoke openly in an exclusive interview for the upcoming edition of Inside United, the official magazine of Manchester United. He shared his willingness to play anywhere the team needs him, including the goalkeeper position, just to stay on the pitch.

“You can’t be focused only in one position,” Amad explained during the interview at Old Trafford. “Sometimes you can play as a defender, sometimes you can play as a striker.

“Wherever the manager puts me, I’m ready to fight for the team. I have no problem playing as a right winger or a no. 10. I can play everywhere. Like I told the manager, if you need me as a keeper, I’m ready to do my best!”

This attitude reflects Amad’s commitment and flexibility. He has proven his abilities in several positions, including an inverted no.10 role, especially during his loan spell at Sunderland in the Championship. In the current setup, he has embraced his wing-back duties, showing great energy and determination.

Coach Ruben Amorim appreciates this versatility, which is vital in his dynamic system. Amorim emphasizes that positions in his style of play are not fixed but evolve depending on whether the team is attacking or defending.

“He was really good defensively, and really good attacking, so he has to continue to play like that,” Amorim said after the team’s 4-0 victory over Everton. “You could feel at the end of the game that he was really tired, so we also have to manage that, to increase his physical ability.”

The coach’s words highlight Amad’s importance to the team and the need to carefully manage his workload. Despite the heavy demands of the wing-back role, Amad has shown his readiness to adapt and contribute.

Amad will now aim to recover quickly from his recent efforts as Manchester United prepares to face Arsenal on Wednesday night at the Emirates Stadium. It will be another test for the team, and Amad will hope to play a part in securing a positive result.

Fans eager to learn more about Amad’s journey and experiences can look forward to the full extended interview in the January issue of Inside United. The magazine will be available starting 10 December, offering deeper insights into his perspective and his ambitions with Manchester United.
