English forward Jamie Vardy’s pre-match routine has always been shrouded in mystery, but in 2016, he opened up to Sun Sport about his unique diet and preparation for matches. According to Vardy, he starts his day on a matchday by chugging a can of Red Bull as soon as he wakes up, which he claims to consume in just 30 seconds. This unusual habit sets the tone for the rest of his pre-match regime, which includes skipping breakfast and fueling up with a cheese and ham omelette with baked beans at 11:30 am. Interestingly, Vardy washes down this meal with another can of Red Bull, which he also consumes quickly.

Vardy’s diet has been extensively talked about in the media, and his post-match rituals are just as intriguing. In an interview, he revealed that he likes to unwind with a can of Red Bull after a match, saying, “I like to get ready for bed, and I like to do that with a can of Red Bull.” His love for the energy drink has led many to wonder if it has contributed to his remarkable goal-scoring form. Throughout his career, Vardy has been known for his boundless energy and relentless work rate on the pitch, making him a fan favorite at Leicester City.

Despite his personal success, Vardy has also been an integral part of the Foxes’ team, making 474 appearances for the club across all competitions since joining in 2012. He has scored an impressive 194 goals and provided 67 assists, cementing his status as one of the Premier League’s most consistent and deadly strikers. This season, Vardy has continued to impress, scoring four goals and providing one assist in 10 games across all competitions.

However, league standings and individual achievements take a backseat when injuries strike. For Leicester City, the loss of Abdul Fatawu due to an ACL injury is a significant blow, as the Ghanaian attacker has been a crucial addition to the squad since joining from Sporting CP in July 2024. The 20-year-old attacker sustained the injury during Ghana’s match against Angola, and according to Leicester City manager Steve Cooper, he will miss the remainder of the season.

Cooper’s words of encouragement aside, the injury is a massive setback for both the player and the club. Fatawu has already made a significant impact on the pitch, playing all 11 Premier League games and recording two assists. His absence will undoubtedly be felt, but Leicester City has a deep squad to rely on. The likes of Jordan Ayew, Bobby De Cordova-Ried, and Patson Daka have already returned to team training, giving the coaching staff a chance to adjust their strategy and compensate for Fatawu’s loss.

In the context of the league, Leicester City’s clash against Chelsea holds significant importance. The Foxes will be looking to capitalize on Chelsea’s struggles this season, having already faced the Blues twice this campaign. With Vardy leading the charge, Leicester City has the talent and depth to cause an upset, but they will need to be at the top of their game to overcome a strong Chelsea side.
